Abstract: Interstitial cystitis refers to chronic non-bacterial cystitis caused by unknown factors. It is one of hard diseases in urology. The condition is long and recurrent, which seriously affects the patient’s physical and mental health and quality of life. Interstitial cystitis is located in the bladder, and is closely related to the liver, spleen, and kidneys. It is mostly based on the deficiency of the spleen and kidney as its root cause, and the dampness-heat of the bladder as its symptoms, often accompanied by liver depression, with blood stasis as its pathological product. This disease is a mixture of deficiency and excess, and in treatment, the priority of the deficiency and excess of the conditionand the priority of the syndrome should be distinguished during treatment. At the same time, the mucosal lesions of interstitial cystitis under cystoscopy, can be included in the category of "internal ulcer", and treated with traditional Chinese medicine, both internally and externally. The combination of "oral decoction" and "external perfusion" can improve the clinical efficacy of interstitial cystitis.
