The 110 formulas included in this study were all prescribed by Professor Shen for the patients at their first visits for the treatment of lung cancer from January 2015 to December 2017
and proven to be effective. The names of the herbs used were standardized and data were collected. Association rule Apriori algorithm and Cytoscape data analysis were employed to summarize the medication rules for the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer.
Results
2
110 patients with lung cancer were involved in the 110 formulas
including 12 males and 98 females. The maximum age was 82 years
the minimum age was 35 years
and the mean age was (61.17±7.69)years. There were 30 single herbs with a frequency of > 17
and the top 15 herbs were Tiaoshen Yinyang Formula (Kidney-Yin-Yang-Regulating Formula) (10 g Gouqizi(Fructus Lycii)
10 g Yejuhua (Flos Chrysanthemi Indici)
10 g Shengdihuang (Radix Rehmanniae)

10 g Shengduzhu (Cortex Eucommiae)
10 g Sangjisheng (Herba Taxilli))
which was the main prescription used by Professor Shen to treat yin-yang deficiency syndrome of lung cancer. The average frequency of yin-tonifying herbs was the highest
which was 2.58. According to the degree of support
the top 6 were Gouqizi-Xianhecao (Herba Agrimoniae)
Gouqizi - Shengdihuang. There were 16 herb pairs with 100% confidence. The result of the visual network analysis of herbal combinations with support > 10% showed that the main purposes were resolving toxins
draining dampness
supplementing yang
supplementing yin
supplementing the blood
drying dampness and stanching bleeding.
