Professor Wang Qingguo’s medical case of treating advanced bile duct cancer
Carcinoma of bile duct is a kind of malignant tumor derived from epithelial cells of the bile duct. As a common malignancy of the hepatobiliary system
its etiology remains unclear. This disease often presents with insidious onset
and early-stage cases typically lack obvious symptoms. Diagnosis is often made in the advanced stages
making surgical resection difficult and rendering chemotherapy and radiation therapy less effective due to the tumor’s resistance. This article presents a case that combines internal and external treatment guided by the principles of soothing the liver and eliminating dampness and heat
resulting in prolonged patient survival and improving quality of life. This approach provides insights for the use of TCM in the treatment of this disease.
