Sun Weizheng’ s experience in managing iron deficiency anemia based on the theory of "sour and sweet transforming into yin"
“Professor Sun Weizheng, a nationally renowned traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, based on the theory of "sour and sweet to transform yin" in traditional Chinese medicine, combined with clinical practice, adhered to the principles of righteousness and innovation, differentiated diagnosis and treatment, and self formulated a pottery pot drink consisting of medicinal herbs such as Rehmannia glutinosa, Astragalus membranaceus, Schisandra chinensis, Angelica sinensis, roasted licorice, jujube, longan flesh, sour jujube kernel, black plum, and calcined soap alum to treat iron deficiency anemia, also known as Chinese medicine chlorosis. On the basis of the connotation and basic theoretical research of "sour sweet yin", this paper explores the mechanism and efficacy of the sour sweet yin formula Taohu Yin in treating iron deficiency anemia, providing a basis for further clinical research.”
